Hi Sobriety

Privacy policy

Last updated 21 October 2026.

This policy explains how Hi Sobriety handles your information. Hi Sobriety is provided by The Protagonist Group Ltd ("we", "us").

If you have any questions, email hello@hisobriety.app.

The short version

  • Hi Sobriety has no accounts and doesn’t send us anything you enter.
  • Your start date, history, old drinking habits and settings are stored only on your phone.
  • We don’t use analytics, adverts or tracking.

What stays on your phone

When you use the app, you enter a first name or nickname, your start date (and any earlier ones), your old drinking habits (drink type, drinks per week, cost per drink and drinking days per week), your currency, your appearance setting and your reminder time. This information is stored only on your phone. We never receive it.

Your phone may include it in its own backups, such as iCloud or Google backups, under your Apple or Google account and their privacy policies. You can delete everything in the app under You → Erase everything and start again, or by deleting the app.

Reminders

If you turn on daily reminders, your phone schedules them itself. Nothing is sent to us or to a notification service.

Purchases

Packs are bought through the App Store or Google Play, under Apple’s or Google’s terms and privacy policies. We never see your payment details. The app checks with the store which packs you own so it can unlock them.

Launch emails

If you join our launch list on the website, we keep your email address so we can tell you when Hi Sobriety is available. Our email provider, MailerLite, stores it for us. We’ll only email you about the launch, and every email has an unsubscribe link. Our legal basis is your consent. Unsubscribing deletes your address from the list.

The website

Our website doesn’t use cookies, analytics or tracking. Its fonts and images are hosted with the site, so visiting it doesn’t send your information to anyone else. Our web host keeps standard server logs for security for a short time.

Your rights

Because the app’s information stays on your phone, you control it directly. For the launch list, you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or unsubscribe at any time by emailing hello@hisobriety.app. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at https://ico.org.uk.

Children

Hi Sobriety is for adults aged 18 and over.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
